Planning Update for 2005 American Longevity visitors (new)
Recently I sent an email to everyone on this subject and asked you all to respond to me regarding establishing a schedule of American Longevity visitors for 2005. I have provided what I have, for Doc Wallach specifically, to American Longevity and I am waiting on their advice regarding his proposed itinerary. Once I am rolling with his schedule I will then consider all other visitors. I’ll let you know when I get some information.
Seminar Guidelines (new)
I sent an email to you on 14 September outlining a common sense approach with running seminars. I haven’t had too much feedback so I assume that everyone is happy. It is important that you pass the guidelines onto your downlines and ensure that they understand and agree with what has been laid out. As Australian Longevity’s leading distributors you represent your downlines and any unethical behaviour by them will not be appreciated.
Advertising by distributors (new)
I know that you have heard this before but it is such an important issue for everyone and worth repeating. If we get the advertising wrong, the consequences are not pleasant.
I cannot stress how vital it is that all advertising conforms with the TGA guidelines. They are the controlling body and any advertising that distributors issue that is outside these guidelines can leave the company exposed and distributors can be personally responsible to the TGA for errors or false and misleading statements.
The current process is this:
- Distributors should refer to the TGA website for the guidelines and where needed, they should obtain professional marketing advice.
- Once the distributor believes that the advertising meets TGA requirements the copy should be sent to me. I will send this to American Longevity for sign off.
- Any other approach means that the advertising is not approved and is not able to be used.
For the future I am working with a Regulatory body to develop product information guides, which must then be the basis of all advertising. They will be comprehensive and there will be no need to enhance the wording. In fact it probably won’t be permitted, aside from stating your name as an independent distributor.
You will still need to send this advertising to me for signoff and so long as it conforms with the information as per the product information guide, there will not be an issue. The advantage to everyone here is that I should be able to approve the advertising without needing it to go to American Longevity, which means a quicker turnaround for you.
New Products for Australia (new)
We have had some response to this request from last month but only minor. You know the American Longevity product range and you and your downlines are the best judges to know which products would sell here. Please let me know and why they would be good sellers. I will then let Steve Wallach know and ask him to consider them for inclusion here.
New Price for Osteo Cal item code 31209 (new)
The cost of the Osteo Cal has changed from $71.50 to $68.50 and the BV has reduced to 35.
TAX again (new)
I still have concerns that tax issues regarding commissions payable and tax ID numbers continue to create uncertainty in the network. My intention from the start was to give distributors protection under Australian Taxation Law. This has meant that some existing tax arrangements for some distributors needed amendment and that some education was needed by everyone about the changes. It certainly wasn’t something that I implemented to make life difficult for anyone. That’s destructive and not in my nature to do.
Irrespective of the detail that I have delivered for some time I am more than happy to discuss any tax issue relating to your Australian Longevity business. Please note that I am not an accountant and I can give no general tax advice. What I can provide is an understanding of how tax affects your commission payments and the documentation that you and your downlines need to have in place to take the best advantage of what the tax laws allow.
If you want to discuss anything please ring me on 1800 756 467. I am more than happy to take the time and go over any tax issue and it will be in complete confidence. I am learning too and I am not about to sit in judgement because you may have a difficulty in understanding something. I much prefer that you understand what is required and be able to pass this out. Eventually we all win knowing that we can keep the tax man happy. Also, what I can’t answer, I will get an answer for you.
Your downlines sometimes can’t talk to you (new)
I get infrequent calls from distributors who either cannot contact their upline or in some cases have no idea who their upline is. This is a golden marketing opportunity for you to get in touch with them and build your relationship (and your commissions). As I continually say anyway, I send my information to you with the intention that you send it to your downlines. We try and put relevant information with orders leaving the warehouse, to assist this process but we rely on you to help us.
Use of our Sydney premises (new)
We are gradually getting more distributors to use the Sydney premises but its still something that can be better utilized by everyone. The premises at Castle Hill are available for use by any distributor Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. In addition the premises are available for use by any distributor during the day (9am to 4pm Monday to Friday). Bookings can be made by contacting Mike Eddy on the 1800 number. Please let your Sydney downline know.
Product refunds and exchanges (Reminder)
We have a 30 day money back guarantee for all products. Orders that are over 30 days but less than 90 days we can exchange product only. To receive a refund it is imperative that you return the product back to us in 10 working days of receiving an RMA (return material authorization) number from our office. The RMA process is very specific and you will be advised at the time of our requirements for returning the product. If you consequently decide to keep the product please let us know on toll free 1800 756 467. This will assist with tracking all RMA numbers issued.
Direct sales to distributors from our Sydney premises (reminder)
We sell all available products through our receptionist. Next time you are in the Castle Hill area call into the premises and say hi anyway, but use the opportunity to purchase your products and save yourself the freight costs and waiting time for normal delivery. Please let your Sydney downline know of this opportunity.
Australia Post and Allied Express Courier Services (reminder)
As a general rule, any order that is faxed or telephoned in to the office leaves within the next 24 to 48 hours from our warehouse. All PO Boxes will be shipped by Australia Post. Australia Post has informed us that it can take up to 5 to 10 working days to be delivered to your address. All other parcels will be delivered by Allied Express, either to your home or business address. In order to help assist you better, we ask that you use a Business Address. If this is not possible we ask that you assist us by having instructions to leave your parcel somewhere secure on your property (e.g. side or back of rear door). Allied Express will deliver parcels Australia Wide within 5 working days in all metropolitan areas and within 7 working days for all other areas. Should you require your parcel the next day, we can use their overnight express service at an additional cost to you. Please notify the Customer Service Department if parcels are not received within 10 working days.
